Who - What - When - Where - Why?

Crocker's Critters Miniature Horse farm is a small, hobby-farm operation, dealing in small horses. We are situated on the South Mountain, approximately 24 km from Middleton, Nova Scotia, on the picturesque No. 10 Hwy.

Here at our little hobby-farm, we have one stallion, "Long Shots Texas Lakota", and several wonderful mares, with which we produce a couple of foals a year. We have Appaloosas, and Pintos, as well as solids; carrying bloodlines such as Egyptian King, Dell Tera, Little Red Man, Hobby Horse and Double 0 Seven Moto.

Have a Miniature, or Pony already...but it's not harness trained; then bring it to us. We not only raise winners, we train them too.

Why Minis?

The Miniature Horse is a unique breed which comes in all shapes and colours. They range in looks and build from Draft type, Quarter horse type, to the very refined Arabian type of horse. Actually, just about any breed of horse you prefer can be found "minimized" into this wonderful breed. In our opinion...that is just one of the things that makes this breed so very special, and a true pleasure to have in your barn.

Having been involved with horses almost all our lives, Alden, (my better half) and myself, fell hard for the Miniature breed over ten years ago, and have found Minis much easier to keep, and in our opinion...so much more fun! Imagine being able to pick up a new-born foal and give it a cuddle...the hard part is putting it back down!

At the shows it is sometimes hard to tell the adults from the children, we are all having so much fun! Especially in the costume classes...those are a hoot! That is when it becomes pretty obvious we know how to laugh at ourselves...and love what we are doing...which is loving our horses.

Other Fun Stuff

Here in the Annapolis Valley, many of us belong to the Annapolis Valley Harness Club, and have had several Driving Clinics in the last few months. In the last year, we have gone from a handful of members to over 50 members!
Any chance to get our light harness driving horses and/or ponies out is a good time! The Driving dicipline is really catching on here in Nova Scotia!

Again I ask you to "check us out" and give this wonderful, affectionate, and loveable breed a look-see. There is nothing quite like being loved by a Mini! The only down-fall that we can see, is that they are like potatoe chips..."it's hard to have only one"!
